How Restylane came to be
In the late 1980s, Swedish scientist and entrepreneur Bengt Ågerup had a vision to bring his scientific work on hyaluronic acid out of the lab and into the real world. Ågerup and his fellow scientists wanted to find a way to restore skin moisture and structure by creating a product that could deliver naturally occurring hyaluronic acid into the skin.
